LIVING INSIGHT THERAPY
Healing minds from the inside out.
My Practice
My clinical work is underpinned by three 'pillars', that form the main disciplines of my psychotherapeutic training: integrative counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

As a trained counsellor, I am able to offer a warm, non-judgemental therapeutic space to explore general themes in a person's life in terms of what might be at the root of personal challenges. Counselling is like a conversational 'dance' between the client and counsellor, who lends some structure to whatever the client brings. What emerges from this therapeutic process is the development of insights with reference to the problem. This is an ideal approach for (unprocessed) grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, transitional periods in life and, in some cases, depression.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), in contrast, is a more structured and active therapy where the understanding of clients' difficulties is developed collaboratively, and then the therapist offers strategies and techniques for overcoming these challenges. The techniques are evidence-based, meaning they have arisen out of a process of research into psychology and are generally recommended by NICE guidelines. This approach is useful for any of the anxiety disorders, eating disorders, depression, personality issues, perfectionism, phobias, and problems with low self-esteem.

Finally, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is specifically designed to treat any traumatic experiences that cause current distress. These can include abuse in any form (sexual, physical, emotional, neglect), near-fatal accidents, witnessing another person experience near-fatal or fatal accident, medical trauma, and many other forms of trauma.
